The role of the instructor during an online simulation is much different from traditional simulations where the administrator must process student decisions on their local computer. Each quarter, the administrator can select one of four preset economies or calibrate economic parameters individually. Some changes to instructor decision variables during the simulation are communicated to the students, while others remain hidden. Often students will have questions about the data
provided by the simulation each quarter. Instructors should explain any
aspects of the Hurdel Simulation that may not be clear, or encourage
students to email the Hurdel Game Administrator. It is important not to
give advice that would unfairly position one student team to make better
decisions than others.
